The Ducati Owners Club of South Australia ("DOCSA", "the Club", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information handled through the DOCSA mobile application ("the App").
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected or processed when you use the App, how that information is used, and how you can contact us regarding your privacy.
The App provides information about the Club and its activities, including upcoming events and rides, event calendars, photographs and other Club information.
The App may also display information about Club committee members, including their names, positions, photographs, email addresses and telephone numbers. This information is provided for the purpose of allowing members and prospective members to contact appropriate representatives of the Club.
The App allows users who are interested in joining the Club to complete and submit a membership application.
The information requested as part of a membership application may include:
When you submit a membership application through the App, the information you provide is securely transmitted to the App's backend service, where it is stored for the purpose of processing your application. The information is then used to generate and send your application to the Club by email. A copy of the application is also sent to the email address you provide for your records.
Membership application information is stored in the App's Back4App database. The Club may access and retain this information as necessary to assess and administer your membership application and, if your application is successful, your ongoing membership of the Club.
Email delivery is provided using SMTP2GO, a third-party email delivery service. The personal information contained in your membership application is transmitted to and processed by SMTP2GO as necessary to deliver the application to the Club and a copy to you.
The App supports push notifications so that the Club can provide users with relevant updates, announcements and information about Club activities, events and rides.
If you allow push notifications, a device-specific push notification token or similar identifier is generated for your device. This token is stored using the App's Back4App backend and is used for the purpose of delivering notifications to your device.
On Apple devices, notifications are delivered using Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
On Android devices, notifications are delivered using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), a service provided by Google.
Push notification tokens are technical identifiers and are not used by the Club to directly identify you personally.
You can control or disable push notifications at any time through the notification settings on your device.
The Android version of the App uses Google Firebase Analytics to help understand how the App is used and to assist with maintaining and improving the App.
Firebase Analytics may automatically collect information about your use of the App and your device. Depending on your device and configuration, this may include information such as:
This information is processed by Google through Firebase and is used for analytics purposes rather than to directly identify individual Club members.

The App uses third-party technology and service providers to provide some of its functionality.
Back4App provides backend services used by the App to store and retrieve Club content, including information about events, rides, galleries and other Club information.
Back4App is also used to store device push notification tokens required to deliver notifications to users.
Back4App is also used to store membership application information submitted through the App, including personal information such as the applicant's name, date of birth, address, email address and telephone number.
SMTP2GO provides email delivery services used to transmit membership applications to the Club and a copy to the applicant.
Personal information contained in a membership application is transmitted through SMTP2GO as necessary to provide this service.
The Android version of the App uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Firebase Analytics processes app usage and technical information for analytics purposes.
Firebase Cloud Messaging processes device and notification information necessary to deliver push notifications to Android devices.
The iOS version of the App uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver push notifications to Apple devices.
These third-party providers may process and retain information as necessary to provide their respective services and operate subject to their own privacy and security practices.
Membership application information is stored in the App's Back4App database for the purpose of processing and administering membership applications.
The Club may retain membership application information for as long as reasonably necessary to process applications, administer Club membership, meet its legal obligations and maintain appropriate Club records.
Push notification tokens may remain stored in Back4App while they are required to provide notification functionality. Tokens may also become invalid or be replaced as devices, applications or notification registrations change.
Analytics and other technical information processed by third-party services may be retained in accordance with those providers' respective data retention practices.
Users may contact the Club if they have questions about information retained by the Club or wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information.
Reasonable steps are taken to protect personal information handled through the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The App uses third-party service providers to provide backend, email, analytics and notification functionality. These providers maintain their own security measures for information processed through their services.
Club membership is available only to persons aged 18 years or older. The App and its membership application functionality are not intended for use by children under the age of 18.
The Club does not knowingly collect personal information from persons under the age of 18 through the App. If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a person under the age of 18, the Club will take reasonable steps to delete that information where appropriate.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the App, Club practices, third-party services or applicable privacy requirements.
Any updated Privacy Policy will be made available at this location, with the date of the most recent revision shown at the top of the policy.

The DOCSA mobile application is developed and maintained by Rick Luppino on behalf of DOCSA and is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Rick Luppino provides software development and application distribution services to the Club and does not independently use personal information submitted through the membership application for their own purposes.
